RuT Wohnen

RuT Wohnen is a queer feminist residential and cultural project that is one-of-a-kind in Europe and is currently located in Berlin-Mitte, near Alexanderplatz. Together with a municipal housing authority (WBM), the RuT gGmbH is building more than 70 accessible and affordable rental apartments for lesbians* and queer women* here. Brought together under one roof are community spaces, a residential care community with outpatient care and a variety of help and advisements opportunities are also integrated within the building. A neighborhood café and a sociocultural center ensure encounters and communication. As an initiative led by the parties concerned, RuT intends to create a place of inclusion and participation that especially allows women* who have been discriminated against multiple times due to their gender, sexuality, age, disability or (imputed) background to live a self-determined and fulfilling life (together) as well as actively participate in shaping the city.
