Does performance theater still sound like blood and sweat? Like breathtaking surprises based on the chaos principle? Does working in the independent performing arts community mean working long days with nice people about existential topics, but for just about no money? During the Institution of Higher Education Day of the Berlin Performing Arts Festival, all of these stereotypes will be examined closely!
On the holiday of Ascension, students from all institutions of higher education and faculties in Berlin are invited to get to know the Berlin Performing Arts Festival as a platform for the independent performing arts in Berlin and their makers. This opportunity is provided explicitly not only for students of artistic courses of studies and institutions of higher education, but for interested parties from other disciplines as well.
As a guest at Theater unterm Dach in Prenzlauer Berg, the day will start as a kick-off for a special get-together especially intended for students that offers space for information and exchange about everything that makes up the independent theater and dance community. Following this, the participants can explore the additional programming of the day in the festival center and visit productions from the Programming from the Community together throughout the entire city and this immerse themselves in the independent performing arts community in Berlin.
